Seedling Fabric
Recommended Material / Structure
Hydrophilic PP spunbond, biodegradable PLA/PBAT nonwoven, thin spunlace or needle-punched seedling substrate; compatible with growing media, seedling trays, and nutrient-solution systems.
Requirements
Material Performance Requirements
Uniform hydrophilicity, breathability, moisture retention, mildew resistance, controlled root penetration or root blocking; material must not affect seedling growth.
Cost Control Requirements
Use low-basis-weight hydrophilic PP for ordinary seedlings; use biodegradable materials for premium organic agriculture or one-time transplanting; cut by tray size to reduce waste.
Environmental & Biodegradability Requirements
Prioritize biodegradable, compostable, or bio-based materials; verify that the degradation cycle matches the seedling cycle.
Batch Delivery Requirements
Seedling cycles are concentrated; production should be scheduled ahead of planting season. Sheets, rolls, and pre-cut formats can be supplied in parallel.
Custom Development Requirements
Customizable hydrophilic speed, pore size, basis weight, degradation cycle, size, color, anti-mildew finish, nutrient-solution compatibility, and pre-cut format.
Overseas Export & Certification Requirements
For export, consider biodegradability/compostability claims, agricultural material regulations, REACH, and soil-contact safety. Organic agriculture should match the customer's certification system.
Solution Advantages
Good hydrophilicity and breathability support uniform germination; degradation speed and moisture-retention capacity can be designed around crop cycles.
Technical Parameters & Selection Recommendations
Recommended basis weight: 12–40 gsm; width: 0.5–3.2 m. Key tests: water-wicking height, moisture content, air permeability, mildew control, degradation cycle, and crop safety.
