Medical Bed Sheets and Underpads
Recommended Material / Structure
Medical bed sheets: PP spunbond, SMS, or PP+PE film-laminated structures. Underpads: hydrophilic nonwoven topsheet + fluff pulp/SAP absorbent core + PE leakproof backsheet.
Requirements
Material Performance Requirements
Soft skin feel, leak resistance, tensile durability, low irritation, and low linting. Underpads emphasize acquisition speed, rewet control, and liquid-locking capacity.
Cost Control Requirements
For disposable/short-use sheets, use 20–35 gsm PP spunbond. For underpads, reduce unit cost through absorbent-core formulation, backsheet thickness, and efficient width nesting.
Environmental & Biodegradability Requirements
Options include recycled PP, biodegradable backsheet, or fluorine-free water-repellent finishing. Underpads can use chlorine-free pulp, sustainable pulp boards, and reduced-plastic structures.
Batch Delivery Requirements
Bed sheet and underpad specifications are stable and suitable for bulk roll supply. Establish standard width/basis-weight combinations to support high-speed lamination, cutting, folding, and converting.
Custom Development Requirements
Customizable absorbency, size, embossed flow-channel design, hydrophilic treatment, backsheet color, printed pattern, individual packaging, and sterile packaging.
Overseas Export & Certification Requirements
For healthcare use, consider skin-contact safety, microbial limits, and packaging cleanliness. For export, determine whether the product is regulated as a medical device in the target market.
Solution Advantages
Simple structure, controllable cost, and high production efficiency; topsheet hydrophilicity and backsheet leak protection can be optimized separately for comfort and protection.
Technical Parameters & Selection Recommendations
Bed sheets: 20–45 gsm. Underpad topsheet: 12–25 gsm; backsheet: 15–30 gsm. Key tests: absorption multiple, rewet, peel strength, hydrostatic pressure, and skin irritation.
