Mask and Protective Clothing Materials
Recommended Material / Structure
Masks: outer PP spunbond, middle meltblown filtration layer, inner skin-friendly spunbond. Protective clothing: SMS/SMMS or PE breathable film-laminated nonwoven, with heat sealing or seam tape at critical areas.
Requirements
Material Performance Requirements
Masks require high filtration efficiency, low breathing resistance, and low irritation. Protective clothing requires liquid, particle, and pathogen barrier performance, plus moisture permeability, antistatic properties, and tear resistance.
Cost Control Requirements
Optimize electret-treated meltblown efficiency to reduce usage; select SMS or film-laminated structures by protective-risk level; standardize width to reduce edge trim waste.
Environmental & Biodegradability Requirements
Biodegradable outer layers or bio-based films can be developed. Because masks are multi-layer composites and may be contaminated, reduction at source and compliant disposal should be prioritized.
Batch Delivery Requirements
Meltblown fabric requires stable electret performance and batch-level filtration consistency. Maintain safety stock for key raw materials to avoid delivery risks during seasonal or public-health demand spikes.
Custom Development Requirements
Customizable BFE/PFE/N95-type filtration targets, ear-loop/nose-bridge compatibility, breathable-film micropore structure, antistatic treatment, flame retardancy, and antibacterial finishing.
Overseas Export & Certification Requirements
Export categories should distinguish surgical masks, disposable medical masks, and particulate respirators. U.S. products may involve FDA/NIOSH; EU products may involve MDR/PPE Regulation and CE.
Solution Advantages
Controllable meltblown core layer and clear composite layer structure; balances filtration efficiency, breathing resistance, and wearing comfort; suitable for standard roll goods and semi-finished supply.
Technical Parameters & Selection Recommendations
Mask total basis weight: 60–100 gsm; meltblown layer: 20–40 gsm. Protective clothing: 45–90 gsm. Key tests: filtration efficiency, pressure differential, synthetic blood penetration, antistatic performance, and moisture vapor transmission.
