Topsheet: hydrophilic spunbond nonwoven or through-air nonwoven. Backsheet: PE breathable film or film/nonwoven laminate. ADL: through-air nonwoven, perforated nonwoven, or high-loft fiber layer.
Requirements
Material Performance Requirements
Topsheet requires softness, fast liquid acquisition, and low rewet. Backsheet requires leak resistance, breathability, and low noise. ADL requires rapid distribution, loft retention, and compression resistance.
Cost Control Requirements
Segment by topsheet basis weight, hydrophilic finish, ADL thickness, and backsheet MVTR grade. Premium products use through-air/nonwoven-laminated backsheets; economy products use spunbond/standard breathable film.
Environmental & Biodegradability Requirements
Options include bio-based PE, biodegradable film, recycled packaging materials, and fluorine-free finishing; reduce adhesive usage and complexity from multi-material lamination.
Batch Delivery Requirements
Build a standard library for topsheet, backsheet, and ADL materials; maintain stable hydrophilic durability and batch-to-batch MVTR consistency.
