Air Filtration Materials
Recommended Material / Structure
PP meltblown filter media, electret meltblown, PET/PP needle-punched substrate, glass-fiber composite, through-air filter media, and activated-carbon composite media; selectable by pre-filter/medium-efficiency/high-efficiency grade.
Requirements
Material Performance Requirements
Filtration efficiency, low pressure drop, high dust-holding capacity, dimensional stability, temperature/humidity resistance, flame retardancy or antibacterial performance. High-efficiency air filtration requires particle capture balanced with pressure drop.
Cost Control Requirements
Use needle-punched or through-air media for pre-filters; meltblown/composite media for medium and high efficiency. Optimize pressure drop and cost through fiber fineness, electret process, and basis weight.
Environmental & Biodegradability Requirements
Options include recyclable PP/PET mono-materials, low-VOC binders, and recycled PET fibers; spent filter media should be handled according to contamination category.
Batch Delivery Requirements
Efficiency and pressure drop must remain stable in volume production; define factory control ranges for electret decay, basis weight, thickness, and air permeability.
Custom Development Requirements
Customizable efficiency grade, color, basis weight, thickness, flame retardancy, antibacterial finish, activated-carbon composite, scrim lamination, pleating compatibility, and roll width.
Overseas Export & Certification Requirements
For export, consider customer-specified EN 779/ISO 16890, ASHRAE, HEPA/ULPA-related tests, plus flame-retardant and RoHS/REACH requirements.
Solution Advantages
Wide material combinations cover pre-filtration to high-efficiency filtration; composite structures can reduce pressure drop and extend service life; suitable for air purifiers, HVAC, and automotive HVAC.
Technical Parameters & Selection Recommendations
Recommended basis weight: 20–300 gsm; thickness: 0.2–10 mm. Key tests: filtration efficiency, initial resistance, dust-holding capacity, air permeability, flame retardancy, and electret decay.
