DIY Your Own Bag!
In addition to the high-quality custom bags produced at Huahao, you can of course also make a unique DIY bag at home using waste paper! Here are tutorials from Google. Of course, this is not the only way. All roads lead to Rome. Let’s have a try!
Material preparation
Large sheets of paper (kraft paper/wrapping paper/newspaper)
Scissors
Ruler
Pencil
Glue/double-sided tape/stapler

🔧 Production steps
I. Bottom of origami bag
1️⃣ Flatten the paper
Place with the glossy side facing down
Lay vertically (long side facing you)
2️⃣ Fold the bottom
Fold the bottom edge up 5cm
After unfolding, fold up 2.5cm again to form a reinforced edge
3️⃣ Glue the bottom edge
Apply glue inside the 2.5cm folded edge
Fold and glue along the original crease
Press with a heavy object until dry
II. Make the side
4️⃣ Tubular shaping
Roll the paper into a tube (glossy side facing outwards)
Leave a 1.25cm adhesive edge on the overlapping edge
5️⃣ Fix the side
Fix the side with glue/stapler
Make sure the bottom reinforcement edge is at the bottom
III. Bottom cover processing
6️⃣ Fold the bottom
Flatten the bottom of the tube into a diamond shape
Fold the bottom edge up 5cm and align it with the side
7️⃣ Bottom reinforcement
Apply glue inside the folded edge to bond
Or use a stapler to double fix
IV. Handle production
8️⃣ Punch holes and thread ropes
Punch holes on both sides 5cm away from the bag opening
Thread the ribbon/hemp rope (length 30cm+)
9️⃣ Rope knot fixation
Tie knots inside to prevent falling off
Or use a stapler to directly fix the handle
💡 Practical tips
Material upgrade: old calendars/maps can be made into retro style
Load-bearing enhancement: add cardboard to the bottom or double-layer pasting
Creative decoration: use stamps to make patterns
Paste lace/buttons
Colored tape to wrap the edges
Size adjustment: scale the paper size proportionally as needed
Environmental protection suggestions: use biodegradable glue

When the glue is wet, it is more secure to use a clip to fix it
When using sharp tools, an adult must accompany you
It is recommended to use thickened materials for load-bearing items
After the production is completed, you can use heavy objects such as books to press it for 1 hour to set it, and the paper bag will be more stiff and durable. You can personalize it according to the holiday theme to make your own eco-friendly bag!
